Lecture 1:
Why Believe the Bible?
Section 1:
Part A:
One of the greatest doctrinal questions which has faced the church of Jesus Christ in all ages concerns the Bible. The old age question is; whether the Bible is indeed the Word of God and what we mean when we say that it is “The Word of God”. The belief of the inspiration of the Bible has ordinarily been a turning point in Christian theology. Oftentimes a man’s whole theology will be decided by his attitude toward the Bible as to whether or not it is the very Word of God. In dealing with this question, it would be nice to give some fundamental facts which are generally known to all Christians, and after that we can proceed with a statement concerning the inspiration of the Bible, and a further explanation of what we believe inspiration to be. Following this we can consider the reasons why we believe the Bible to be the Word of God.
Section Reading:
Genesis 1, 2, 3
